I want holiday.
I actually worked last saturday.
I was asked to assist a colleague in his Anaesthesiologists (pronounce that!) AGM, and i said, why not? after all, all i just had to do is sit down look cute and take their attendance and eat free 8-course dinner. And get paid 1.5 times hourly pay. I can slack another saturday; this one just had to go! More merlionsters to go!
The AGM was held at Copthorne Orchid, at bukit timah, just opposite Raffles Town Club. It was more ulu than ulu pandan! At 12 i met my colleague at PS so he could drive me there, and lo and behold, he turned up in a damn Batmobile. It was a super zheng-out car man, top half black, bottom half silver, huge spoiler, and tinted windows (which are actually kinda illegal but he didnt care). I hopped in and the music was sick; the woofers were blasting at my legs. The moment we took off i felt i was in tokyo drift.
In every AGM there is this so-called minimum number of attendees before the AGM can commence, called a quorum. The AGM had a quorum of 20. And if the quorum is not hit when the AGM should start, the whole thing must be adjourned. Luckily the AGM commenced with 23 people. The college had.. hundred plus people.
But i say stupid rules are meant to be broken. What if the AGM did not hit quorum? Then the restaurant booking will be wasted, the time spent preparing for the AGM will be down the drain. And tonnes of paper wasted too. Sometimes we should all learn to bend rules.
Doctors came in all sorts. Old, young. Smiley, grumpy (i saw one doctor i swear his face could turn the blue sky grey!) Some well dressed. One just came from a run, and appeared in his sweaty T-shirt and shorts, and a cap which he wore backwards. No joke. Come for AGM summore.
The dinner came with sharksfin and lobster! Muahahaha.
The conversations of doctors during leisure periods are very similar to normal people, in a way. I mean, everyone talks cock during a conversation, so do doctors. For example, while we argue about which team will win EPL, doctors argue about which acupoint induces vomit whatsoever. One doctor illustrates a time when he chased another doctor out of his operating theatre with a surgical needle. Another doctor spoke about a time when a nun in Mount Elizabeth asked him to remove his socks, and he asked her to remove her pantyhose first. And etc.
And it was a successful AGM. My colleague drove me out to coronation where i took a bus home, in time to see Chelsea beat ManU during extra time.
IN YOUR FACE!
Whatever la.
Think Positive.
Yes, i still do go online! More often then you even will know! I just dont log in to msn sometimes because my fantastic computer is slower than a stationary bus! And sometimes when i click stuff too fast the damn screen just hangs till you wanna whack yourself with the keyboard till you die of old age but your com still will be on hang, you know what im saying? Bet you dont!
So sometime ago i remember mahjonging with some funties and losing terribly to them. If anyone tries to say im lying dont believe a word; remember how they call me Bridge-King, the liars! Hahaha. Luckily our evil plan worked and we called Jacq-who-can-make-trains-fly-copperfield style to come MJ with us instead of King-of-Gamblers cJ, or he will suck the moolah of our pockets and use his winnings (which he will think meager) and start a business with Singapore Turf Club.
We did soccer on an artificial pitch too sometime ago, i finally remember. I bloody sound like a guy with amnesia, slowly trying to map his memories dun i. If im not wrong, i remembered paying a million dollars for 2 hrs to play on a microscopic netted pitch, but feeling damn shacked. But it was like.. kick kick kick beepbeep
guys in pitch number one your time is up.. The 2 hrs were up in 2 seconds! Overall it was a 7/10.
Sometime after church my family went to vivo cos we wanted a change of lunch place, forever always suntec/marina sq. We went to the top level where to open area was. And lo and behold, i saw the black chin-up-guy statue swinging by itself! Didnt know it could do that. Lunched at vivoMarche.
Marche @ Vivo
Instead of the standard paper scanning cards, we were issued the credit-card-like cards. Still 100 bucks if you lose it. The ambience was similar: french country interiors with benches, and some chairs had cow-skin-patterned cushions. But instead of the typical frenchy songs they always play, now they play like current songs (pop/rock/whatever shiat) and it spoils the whole country marche-y mood.
The outlet is small, but there is no excuse not to sell Sambal Stingray! The seafood section was only fish, fish, fish and some softshell crabs. Atrocious. So i went to find my next best marche food- the thin crusted pizza. DONT HAVE. I went to the drinks section, and though i wasnt in any beer mode, they dont have Erdinger either. Did Marche just pulled a Cartel-stunt? Lucky the rosti section was still there. And crepes. And i saw something new- Spanish Paellas, traditional spanish fried rice, but according to cong it taste terrible over there.
Overall, vivoMarche was a 5/10.
Evening time i remembered meeting up to celebrate cutie's birthday at Kenny Rogers Marina sq. Did we bought a car for her? Yes, a red car right? Which was 9 times the size of winnie. I bet the bag we bought her is sitting somewhere in
a closet collecting dust (haha) I think whoever wants a better review of the birthday go read the other blogs.
The past week:
On tuesday i had to OT till 9pm cos the Academy had a ballot counting event to select the next batch of board of directors, and it was just like Singapore Idol! The past weeks the nominees were known and they had to send in CVs with their faces and all, and finally at the ballot count the winner(s) was finally announced! Bloody exciting la. And after the event we ordered pizza and kfc and had a picnic in the LKC Room aka Mj's boardroom. I love my job.
No one would believe who i met on Wednesday. Have not seen this friend for so long that, the feeling was almost.. surreal. Now its only a figment of my imagination. If anyone ask if i really did met her, i really am not sure. Seriously. This meeting deserves a 100000000000000000/10
I just re-read the above paragraph and i think its damn hilarious and im bloody exaggarative.
On friday i met Foo to do crazy things again. And this time crazy came with a price. We went to the coolest place in Singapore to pool (also the dumbest place in Singapore to booze), The Labyrinth. There's a clear difference between crazy-crazy and crazy-stupid. Still, my Crazy-goal-to-watch-a-GoldClass movie is not accomplished. Wonder when will i ever Travel-the-World.
Saturday, me and few went to watch SPIDER-MAN 3. My review (beware of spoilers):
One must watch the first 2 movies or simply like Marvel superheroes, in order to even appreciate anything of the movie.
The plot: Parker wants to marry dumb brunette. Dumb brunette thinks Spidey is getting to much iuto Parker's head, and is unsure. Parker felt sad. Then a few bad guys wanna mess with him, so he wallops them, with the convenient help of a black alien which mummifies him like a saran wrap. Then he went to spite dumb brunette with dumb blonde. Bad guys reappears, best friend-turn-worst enemy-turn- best friend came to help and dies eventually. The end. Surprisingly all the falling debris from all the destructions never killed any passers-by.
Characters: Topher Grace (Eric Forman from that 70's show) is too damn funny to do a Venom! The part when black spidey whipped the camera from his hands and smashed it, and he shouted, "What the Hell!" is toooo classic Eric Forman. Ivan and biao thinks Kirsten is better looking then the blonde playing Gwen Stacey, i think otherwise. And Kirsten reminds ivan of Christina..dots
Overall, Spidey3 was an 8/10.
Happy Mother's Day, God Bless everyone!
Mj out.
