My msn is screwed sometimes.
Its been a hectic week on the job with all the new staff being recruited and me having to facilitate the interviews and stare at their bizarre countenances. Its an interesting job; i love it. And its friday already?
Wednesday
Takaya Bistro Thomson
Pleasant interior, few tables which accommodates more than 4 people, and sadly one unisex washroom. Acceptable, however, considered it is a small outlet.
When we were seated we were first asked what drinks we would like and that is the first good point, cos some jap restaurants i know dont. And naturally we ordered green tea for all, and our cups were refilled speedily unlike the outlet at Chinatown.
Our orders were taken, our first round, we naturally asked for sashimi (we only take salmon and tuna and occasionally swordfish), tempura prawns, shitake, smeltfish etc and softshell crab. After a while all arrived except for the prawns and smeltfish. And we thought it would arrive soon thereafter, so we ordered our second round of food. But our first round of prawns and smeltfish never appeared. And some items we ordered in the second round did not appear too. Is this due to the fact that since it is a 'buffet' the guest would forget what they order and simply reorder what they have not received? At the Chinatown outlet all of what we ordered appeared.
We had third and fourth rounds, and only one of the rounds a staff took the initiative of asking us to reorder for a next round. At the Chinatown outlet the staff never comes. Maybe they should have a few staff tasked to be 'look-out-personnel', in charge of signaling when a table is green-tea-empty or requires more food.
Quality of food is acceptable, and definitely better than sakae any day, but cannot beat Hanabi Restaurant. If im not wrong, Takaya lacked Unagi. The sushi variety is bad (sushi i think, should be outstanding in any jap restaurant cos sushi is a signature Japanese food item), and the tempura prawns are small. The sashimi is brillant, the Agedashi (pardon if wrong spelling) tofu is great, the soft shell crab is fresh. The mix 'fruits' only consist of watermelon and papaya. Should at least have honeydew mah. And the second round of mix fruits they excluded the papaya, so we only had watermelon. What happen.
Summarizing: Pleasant environment, speedy tea refills, ordered food going MIA, sushi menu needs a revamp, prawns need to be enlarged, and the dessert menu can possibly incude ice-cream. Green tea ice- cream. Why not? Dessert is important too! :D
Friday, TodayToday a few snapping went haywire. Supposed to meet up with 'snapee' (new derived word) heart, but remembered i had to meet my sis and her bf for dinner. Then wins and jacq suddenly wants to snap also. We should throw away funtyppl and call ourselves snap-ppl!
Dinner was at a spanish restaurant near my office. My sis has been to spain and im so jealous. One day i will defeat her in our livelong rivalry of who travels the widest. And so we had fantastic spanish food in which i have never tasted before, and had draft heineken. Sometimes i scare myself when i drink and not have any effects, its just not normal. hehe
Then i headed to suntec and meet my snapees. And they made me treat them Ben & Jerrys cos im so rich right now. I said no bloody problem at all. Anyone else wants me to treat them?
The last line is bull.
Yay

Damn. Finally after 3 weeks. Im not complaining though!
Its time for something ultra-famous and superly-kungfu! Ivan faster leh.
'..he rides his father's influence," Hilarious.
When you're out in the working world, time moves at lightspeed. You step into the office on monday morning, after which everything goes on blah blah then boom! You step out of the office friday evening. Everything's a rush. Sometimes things goes to fast that you cant even recall it happening. Thats when blogging helps. Thats why i am here typing this now, and its midnight, and i have church tmr. And all i can recall before this is today's and friday's happenings. Damn. what did i do on thursday? And wednesday? Seriously. I remembered dinnering with certain people but i cant recall who.
I find it fortunate that some of us work close to each other cos that makes snapping damn easy. Everyone is busy. Everyone has their own priorities in their lives. But we all still do have to eat right? So whats it a chore to meet for dinner like once in eons? I love my snappable friends. I unlove the rest. Yes, you!

On Friday mr smoo wanted to cut hair at Chinatown point so he snapped heart and I for dinner. Moi wanted to go to funan, as well as eat something fast-food instead of the every day cai-peng so we walked from chinatown to funan. At the KFC-cum-taco-cum-pizzahut place where we ate we saw a bunch of ten-lidat smoos students, and they totally reminded me of.. the funty days. Only difference is that all their girls are ugly. Our girls are all gorgeous.
Then we went to challenger (which i have membership, so next time you are at challenger you can call me for my ic no., if you dont call me but use my ic no. i will still know you used somehow, you sneaky turtle you) to get cartridges for my ten thousand year old printer which i got 8 years ago. Heart was contemplating getting replacement creative earphones but picked seinheissers cos he wanna be cool. Biao says wired mouse is better than wireless mouse. Why? So the pesky rodent will not run away.
After we settled our IT issues we walked to Raffles city, walked around the basement, and we bumped into two ppl whom we have not seen since forever. They still look the same however.
I realise that every snapped post-dinner walking activity will always end up with Borders as our final destination, no matter where in Singapore we are, reason being it closes at 11pm! And sometimes 12? And its signature 3-for-2 is irresistible. Biao says download books cheaper. I say, that is just like eating a Macdonalds-Big-Mac-Meal flavoured vitamin pill! Books are meant to be read on paper, thats what i feel. To hold the book in your hand, to smell the musty scent of a page, to feel and flip through the hundred pages with your fingertips; that is the true feeling of reading, and thats how you treasure a book and its contents.
Biao i still want you to send me ' The world is flat' by Thomas Freidman however, thanks. :D

Saturday morning i was planning to lie in bed the whole day reading 'The interpretation of murder' by Jed Rubenfeld but i love my sister too much and so i went to help her at her booth at the Channel U Motorcross Show.

Aint that a sweet booth. Other booths had expensive biking gear for sale, some just had motorbikes for display. We have free magazines for giveaway, of course we win.
The Motorcross event was so interesting. Since when you can see tons of bikers dirt-racing and crashing, all behind cineleisure? So there i was, walking around with a 'Media' pass, taking pictures as i please, staring at pretty biker ladies and intimidating stupid biker guys. The celebrities i saw were the Campus superstar babies, Vivien Lai, and Elim Chew, the founder of 77 Street.

The scramblers were so toyish i wanted to take one home. Sadly it could not fit in my slingbag so i dismissed the idea.
That ends an interesting day. More to come soon.

I pulled the same stunt again.

What's in a post.?
Right now im thinking what i should include in this post so as to not make it look forced, but eventually what i would put will be simply the whats-going-ons lately and work, and that would definitely be forced.
Like
Wednesday i had my NTU medical appointment so i did not go work, i sat the bus into the compound, and did not know where to get off so i had NavEX but without a map or compass. I msged a certain Sabrina where in the world is NTU's medical centre, and she did not reply immediately so i had to sniff my way around and use-the-force a bit. I eventually found the med centre, which was next to the LEE KONG CHIAN lecture theatre!!! That fella followed me from outram to jurong??? I entered the med centre and had my medical check up, only then Sabrina replied. "Its in NTU.." Wow isn't she fantastic?
And that night Heart snapped moi and we went to town for fun.
The next day Heart snapped a doctor and he went to clinic for fun.
Thursday night Foo snapped moi and we went to town for fun.
Today Leo, Heart, Pricey-water-closet and moi (i figured biao should have a snazzy name too) snapped for dinner. We went to the IT fair to look at IT stuff but ended up looking at people's backsides. Met familiar faces promoting all too familiar magazines. Hilarious.
So on and on my posts have been like that. Standard format. I need inspiration. I'm too tired to think creatively now.
