The Marathon that lasted till Forever.

No, I did NOT run in the AHM. But nonetheless i feel shag as ever. When you run a 21 km route you aim to break the pain barrier. When you have to deal with a thousand barricades you have to break the Sian-barrier. And trust me its tougher.

Red white red white red white red white no im not refering to any National day thingy. Thats the colour of the barricades. Trust me if i see any more of those stupid barricades i'll just puke blood.

AHM support. 2 weeks long. Job scope? Load, unload, set up of metal and water barricades. Marshalling. Guarding barricades (which stoopid twit would want to steal a barricade?). And 'miscellaneous'. You see when your job scope includes 'miscellaneous' they can just throw any crap work at you and you cant argue you know. 'Help me go coffeebean buy ice blended' is also part of AHM support.

The run was last Sunday morning. So on Saturday morning 8am i was made to guard seven hundred barricades at chinatown till night, when the set up begins. How stupid can life get? No way i was gonna sit tight looking at 'singapore flags' so i abused my power and went shopping. Heh. I went for lunch and 'lost my way' and returned 3 hours later. Theres only 3 of us guarding the damn things so who's gonna screw me anyway.

Barricades in Chinatown.

Ice blended On the Rocks (Literally)

Nightshots (To prove to winnie that my cybershot COULD take fireworks)

At night till dawn we began to close up the lane for the run. After 1am the lane was supposed to be considered closed but some dumb drivers still insist of entering the lane for their own convenience sake. If i had a landmine (the engineer's profession) a few cars would have been obliterated that night.

After the exhausting closure of a 4 kilometre lane at 5am we prepared to do marshalling. What do marshalls do? We direct the runners, prevent them from exiting the lane, guide traffic at juctions, scold insolent cabbies who insist they must pick up passengers at a closed taxi stand while its ok to knock down runners. And 'miscellaneous'.

During my course of marshalling I saw everyone i expected to see running. Including every funty. But i did not see hh. Haha. Fall out right...

Ok just joking.

After the run we were still out in chinatown keeping barricades, cones, roadsigns, miscellaneous, being fried under the sun. Im an overboiled crab now.

How sad.

And now im at home having my 5 days off.
