stupid camp.
If the camp was supposed to make me feel symphathetic for the poor people from the thrid world countries, im sad to say it didnt work. Not that im some sort of unfeeling insensitive fool, but the programs just didnt project the true situations well enough. Or maybe losing my phone made me lose focus in everything else. I dunno. It wasnt the problem of hunger, but most likely sleepiness. We were only allowed to sleep one half hours. And we couldnt bathe, so we had to sleep in wet clothing.
The programs before that entitled us a nice wet crawl in flooded tunnels as well as search for soya beans (not the drink but the BEAN, yes the small tiny beans kind of bean)scattered on the grass field, at night. The top most lamest activity was making us tear exactly (and i REALLY mean exactly cm by cm) 1cm by 2cm strips from newspapers, 200 of them in 20 minutes. A group managed to accumulate like 300, but mine did like 37-10-10=17 strips. Deduction for talking, becos they say those poor labour exploited children from poor countries were punished for talking on the job. LAme.
The newspaper collection at tampines wasnt too bad (until i realised i lost my phone on the bus). We had to go knocking on doors and asked for their old newspapers like unraged school dropouts turning to the rag and bone business. People recognised us from watching the news and one family even offered me a drink which i refused. (Not because i was a gungho integrity person, but cos i already drank pepsi. HEY i didnt cheat. We were allowed to drink so i just drank an ungrade of what they provide.)
Above all, henceforth, summarising, to conclude, therefore, BY AND LARGE, the camp was 30%good,40%lame,20%tiring, and 10%disgusting (due to sleeping in wet shirts). If i included losing my phone, it would be 20%good 80%sad. ARRGGHHH!!!!! MY PHONE!!!!! WHY!!!!! WAAARRRRRGGHGHGH!!!!!

darnnit.
For 30 hrs of cip points, we have to:-starve for 30 hrs
-dont bathe for 30 hrs (YES you CANT bathe)
-make a stupid banner
-play dumb games
-stay up till 3AM and wake up at 6AM
-collect newspapers from flats
-pay $15 dollars (for what, bottles of gatorade???)
-keep in mind the fact that this whole thing is lame lame lame but forced to pretend we are doing this for the sake of symphatizing with unfortunate people who are really experiencing famines.
With all due respect to the famine camp, this is how i feel. Sorry.

lalala.
Once again Hillsong led my church in worship, and their Senior Pastor Brian Houston preached. They say New Creation Church is the most hospitable and most generous church they ever met in the world, and their most favourite church as well. I wont be cynical bout that, but cant help thinking if they actually said those things to other churches they go to as well? Naah cant be.Saturday, June 05, 2004
Singapore idol, pontential flop?
The show is all about great singers, good looks, and an extremely vital ingredient namely SIMON COWELL. Singapore idol might have the first two, but not the vital ingredient. Its like chicken rice without chicken stock. And ice kachang without attapchee. (Is that how it's spelled?)Went out with a few sec sch ncc friends today, and we actually tried to find the queue at suntec with idol wannabes, but we failed. Cant seemed to see anyone or anything at all. Maybe the auditions was over for the day.
If anyone ever wants to go try out the Max Brenner's Chocolate cafe at the esplande, please, i say please, DUN unless you are prepared to get foolishly ripped off, or unless you are a filthy rich dumbass who loves chocolate. Im not filthy rich , but i love chocolate. And im certainly not a dumbass.
Went for festival of praise yesterday. Featuring Darlene and the hillsong team. Remarkable as usual.
I love talking in short sentences. Yes i do. Dunno why. Its just me.

The last of nothing.
When it seems that everyone else has achieved a great deal after their last days of their ccas and stuff, i cant help but to look back at my jc life and ask myself the same question, have i achieved anything great at all? Nothing much. Nothing at all. Much that i want this pathetic jc life of mine to pass, i do not want it to end either.Maybe God has a specific path for me, to excel in the academic field, and ignore the co-curricular path. If i'm right, then getting triple As for the A levels will justify my jc life completely. Whether i'm cut out for this achievement, i really dont know.
I actually witness the discussion for the selection of odac j1s sometime back, but did not want to comment till now. A vicious cycle. What you think was unfair last year inevitably happened again this year under your very noses. So the guy is potentially out just because you think he was arrogant? What if was just plain sarcastic with humour intended, just like a few of us too? And so you think she was fake just because she wanted to pick up a tissue with a plastic bag? What if she was really hygiene conscious and her tone was merely part of her character? And you dun like the guy just because he likes to zhuang1 sou2? A few of us also do that unintentionally. And a few other silly observations scrutinized ridiculously. This is serious decisions, and im sad to say some of the seniors are taking it as something to pass along. Your tiny decisions alone are changeing lives drastically, and you might not know it because you have not been through it. What you think would be fair would not be fair to them, not one single bit.
Not aiming you guys at all. This is just an unavoidable part of your job, and im sad that you all have to go through this. The good thing is that the selection was early.

A nice White pair of Climacool shoes is good for:
-feet ventilation-freezing your toes in cinemas
-saving your cutie from approaching mudballs
-failing shuttle runs
-turning pink after 2.4 on the track
-turning brown after kampong soccer
-scaring yourself when you almost lose it
-making your fingers turn white trying to scrub it clean
-letting people emphasize what a brainless dumbass you were, and what were you thinking when you decided to buy WHITE shoes.
But i still love my shoes.
